Die Alexander-Schmorell-Schule ist ursprünglich eine Schule für Körperbehinderte, unterrichtet jedoch auch geistig behinderte, lernbehinderte und verhaltensauffällige Schüler/Innen. Ich arbeitete dort als Integrationshilfe in Form der Einzelbetreuung. Meine Aufgabe bestand darin, einen siebenjährigen, stark geistig und körperlich behinderten Jungen, Hilfestellung zu geben bei allen lebensnotwendigen Verrichtungen des Alltags. Außerdem versuchte ich ihm Sicherheit zu vermitteln sich seiner Umwelt zu öffnen, um sich auf neue Situationen und Menschen in seiner Umgebung einlassen zu können. Um mit diesem Jungen in Kontakt zu treten, durfte ich eine neue Sprache und eine neue Welt kennen lernen, die aus Fühlen und Beobachten bestand.
Außerdem versuchte ich ihm selbst diese Welt begreiflicher zu machen und ihm Angebote zu bieten, in denen er sich selbst und seinen Körper, spüren konnte. Ich begleitete ihn also in den Snoezel- und Schaukelraum, führte Wiesenfühlungen durch, oder ließ ihn einfach in der Klangwiege entspannen. Fest im Stundenplan integriert waren außerdem das Schwimmen, Matschen, Psychomotorik und Airtramp. Krankengymnastik wurde epochal mit Logopädie angeboten.
