Ist es dabei sinnvoll sich ganz auf das Kind zu konzentrieren, ihm vollkommene Autonomie zu gewähren? Oder ist es wichtig, dass jemand das Kind beim Lernen anleitet? Diese und weitere Fragen, die in der Tradition dem Denken von Piaget und Wygotski folgen, sind das Thema des Referats und auch der selbigen Ausarbeitung. Dabei wird vor allem auf die Aspekte und Thesen Piagets eingegangen, da sich darauf auch das Referat stützte. Bei der Präsentation des Referats wurden die Aussagen Piagets und Wygotskis gegenübergestellt, um den Kontrast visuell zu verdeutlichen. Um die dargestellten Thesen im Gesamtzusammenhang von Piagets Sichtweise erscheinen zu lassen, wurde beginnend Piagets allgemeine Definition von Entwicklung angeführt. Bei der Veranschaulichung stand der ideale Unterricht im Mittelpunkt und davon leiteten sich die drei Thesen ab, deren Berücksichtigung zu Piagets Vorstellung eines idealen Unterrichts führen. Dieser ist gekennzeichnet von der Favorisierung der selbsttätigen Entdeckung, offenem Unterricht sowie der Betonung der Interaktion zwischen Gleichaltrigen.
