Als ich 13 Jahre alt war, wurde ich zum Ersten mal mit dieser Thematik konfrontiert. Damals betraf es eine Mitschülerin meiner Klasse. Sie war immer eine lustige und etwas dickere Persönlichkeit. Mit dem Übergang zur neunten Klassenstufe, innerhalb der Sommerferien, hat sie ungefähr 10 kg abgenommen. Den Gewichtsverlust, so meinte sie, habe sie durch Sport erreicht. Niemand ahnte etwas, dass sie krank ist. Alle bewunderten sie und bestätigten ihr, dass sie besser aussehe. Doch in dem darauffolgenden Winter, als ihr Gewicht um die Hälfte reduziert war, begann das heimliche Entsetzen. Das etwas mit ihr nicht in Ordnung ist, war bereits jedem bewusst. Sie sei an Magersucht erkrankt, bestätigte uns eine Lehrkraft. Für mich war es unverständlich, wie ein Mensch seine Ernährung verweigert und sich absichtlich abmagert. Da sie sehr oft vom Unterricht ferngeblieben ist und zur Behandlung ihrer Krankheit lange Zeit im Krankenhaus verbracht hat, wurde sie ein Schuljahr zurückgestellt. Heute ist sie eine verschlossene Person und lebt seit sieben Jahren mit der Sucht unaufhörlich abzunehmen. Bisher hat sie keine Therapie erfolgreich abgeschlossen.
